Cambridge, MA

This project was a full gut renovation of worn but beautiful corner lot Victorian home in Cambridge MA. The project goals were to rehab the exterior as close to the existing condition with a few new window locations dictated by a new more fluid floor plan. A service stair was removed and the existing main stair was mimicked while now servicing the basement. The basement was made cozy with a new slab including radiant heat. Formerly blocked windows were replaced to bring the light back in. The second floor was reconfigured to accommodate three bedrooms with en-suite baths. The attic was turned into a gracious studio space and a guest suite. It is a lovely, refreshed, old house completely modernized but detailed in a respectful nod to the original vision.
